North Yorkshire Upland Moors trips call for an early start and in this case that meant 3am in the middle of very hot springtime – by UK standards. I’ve left it a few weeks later than is usual to see how the scene looked later in the season – it has really unseasonable warm and there was evidence of that with a few small fires in the dried out heather and grasses.
The purpose of the trip was to try to capture some shots of the usual suspects but set against the backdrop of early morning sun – the golden hour!
