The EPAGB (Excellence) is a new accreditation with the Photographic Alliance of Great Britain (PAGB) and I have entered to see where I stand in the scheme of things. The award is brand-new so in reality, we don’t really know what the standard is, although it is 10% higher than a DPAGB mathematically. The assessment is being held in Nottingham for the very first time and I have my 15 prints ready to go tomorrow, so fingers crossed for a good outcome.
So here we are at the assessment, where prints, at Badge, Credit, Distinction, Excellence and Master are all being assessed by a panel of six judges. The method and scoring is same as my for my C and D accreditations so I won’t go into that detail, I need to score an average of 22 points per print which makes a total of 330 points to pass. The images I have selected all have a track record of success in Federation, National and International exhibitions and competitions and none of them have been used in previous assessments. I have gone for a set of prints featuring people (with one exception), which has focused my mind somewhat, I could’ve added some previously successful nature images, but have made the decision to narrow my selection.
Well that’s that done then, that was interesting and the news is that I have passed with a total number of 358 points (28 spare). The prints that I selected are shown below along with the scores that they achieved, hopefully this will help some of you to understand whether this is something you will attempt, if so good luck.
