Harvest Mice

I spent a few hours with Mike Hudson in his barn with a collection of Harvest mice. These tiny little creatures are incredibly difficult to photograph in the wild so using a captive subject was probably the only way I was going to photograph these animals.
Mike collected a selection of wild props to use with the mice, including Poppy seed-heads, Blackberries and other wildflowers. The shots were taken on a Canon 6D with a 100 macro lens, tripod mounted and due to the size of these tiny mice I was probably less than 1 metre from them to get a good size in the frame.

The shots below are a small selection from what was captured.
