This is the furthest north that we have stayed in Kruger having failed several times to secure accommodation, but now we’re here for three nights. I do know that there is less game to be seen as you travel to the north of Kruger and the landscape is quite densely packed by Mopani Bush which also makes visibility quite poor at times. Nevertheless on the journey to the camp we came across a small pack of wild dogs that was sleeping at the side of the road, it’s always good to see these painted wolves even though there was little action on view, they were resting up between hunts. The following day we had a drive around the ’Red Rocks’ route which has some great scenery and had cheetah sightings the day previously, no luck for us though on this occasion. Overnight, on our second evening, there was a typical African storm with thunder and lightning rolling across the skies and the downpour of rain which freshened everything up for the morning after when we were heading northwards again towards Punda Maria. Then it rained. Non Stop.
