I visited the Royal Deer Park at Studley Gardens a couple of times during November to witness the rutting season. This means an early start so leaving home at 5:30am is a must as I wanted to get there just before sunrise. The hope was get some silhouettes or shots of the deer against a warm light. There are three Deer species at the park; Red, Fallow and Sitka which all rut at slightly different times so there’s a chance that you will witness some of their antics most of November. The sounds all around me in the rising sun were quite eerie and made me think of Jurassic park at times. The weather didn’t play its part but I did and some of the shots are shown below.
