This was a first visit to the Blackpool Airshow and we opted for the Monday rather than Sunday to keep away from the crowds. Both days were really very windy although quite bright causing some cancellations. The best viewpoint appeared to be the Central Pier as the aircraft performed between the Central and North Piers and this kept the sun largely behind the camera position. The wind was causing quite a few technical issues as the planes were being buffeted about but photographically the lens-hood was acting as an unwelcome sail and exaggerating the camera movement quite badly.

The aircraft were mainly propeller powered rather than jet powered and normally a slower shutter speed will show off the prop movements well but this proved impossible in the high winds. The shots below were captured on the day.
