Following on from the Woodland Birds article, this entry features the birds that can be seen at Mere Sands Wood and Martin Mere. The chicks are beginning to venture out onto the pools and ponds accompanied by their protective parents (except for the Coots that is) and they are much easier to capture photographically than their woodland counterparts. There were many photographers out and about capturing the birds but many were stood up shooting down onto the ducks and must have thought I was the strange one always sat down or led down trying to get a different angle.
