A photo walk to try and locate some Bearded Tits led to an unexpected encounter with a Mute Swan (Cygnus olor) in some rather beautiful, soft light. The reserve itself was under water throughout, including the paths, which made it difficult to get in and about but a good pair of wellies helped there. In one of the inlets there was a single Swan amongst the reeds and grasses with the sun just behind creating an artistic feel to the images. I have tried to process them accordingly, keeping the ‘feel of the scene’ at the expense of some detail.
