I had a few hours in the studio with ‘The Bard’, aka Ciaron Davies, an actor, costumier and character model. We had discussed the looks that I wanted to create and had asked Ciaron to bring along a range of costumes and accessories to support this. He certainly didn’t disappoint and his input into the session was excellent as we worked our way through the various scenarios that we had planned. The basis of the shoot was to create some historical style images that were to be manipulated and composited in Photoshop after the event. The outfits consisted of a Pirate, a Celtic warrior, a Druid’s robe and a mediaeval outfit. Each of these were shot, some with added smoke to create some mood and a pair of graded strip boxes to light our subject. I have created a series of images that I’m really pleased with and will no doubt be post-processing and developing more of the. over the following weeks, here are some of my early images and more can be seen here.
