A trip out to a Lancashire coastal site well known for its decaying and wrecked boats sparked a mini project that saw me focusing on the finer details rather than the wider scenes, as in the title.
There were many boats in a rather poor state of repair, most looking like they had been abandoned many years earlier and a small number of them were of metal construction which were showing signs of their age and lack of care. The colours exhibited under a bright sun were both vivid and complex, things that can easily be overlooked when confronted with the overall scene. I picked individual images in close up detail attempting to convey the effects of time on these once proud, but workmanlike structures, the panel below shows these images…
