On our recent stay in South Africa we ventured down to Port Elizabeth post Safari. On a stroll by the beach we noticed a number of surfers out in the waves and I grabbed my camera and took some shots. This was my first foray into this sport and it took a while to get to terms with. The weather, as usual, was sunny and bright and this allowed me to set the shutter speed at 1/1000 of a second and forget about it. Early images generally cropped part of the surfer or his board as I struggled to anticipate their next movement but after practice I did get better. Some of the shots are posted below and I hope at least one of them will do well for me in the coming season. If you are staying in this city then try the ‘Kingfisher Guesthouse’ – you will not be disappointed.
