The deer rutting season is upon us again, so with that in mind I had a little scouting trip to Studley Royal Park near Fountains Abbey in the Yorkshire dales. I had a good look around the deer park ready for an early start one day soon. I then spent the rest of the afternoon at Fountains Abbey, the first time that I had visited. This is certainly one impressive place, how on earth they managed to build such massive and ornate structures back in the 12th century is unimaginable. The sun was low in the sky as I wandered around and I managed a few grab shots, as seen below. Again I want to re-visit early in the morning when the sun is on the opposite side of the ruin.
