I saw some photos a few months back of a ‘Broken Doll’ style that really appealed to me and a quick bit of research led me to the people involved. The look and feel of these images really had some unique impact on me and I though there was a great opportunity to put my own stamp on if I could interest the model, Amie Boulton, in repeating the set. It took a while but I’m glad to say that another opportunity arose and I booked myself down for some time – just 30 minutes but it was enough to fire off over 150 shots of differing poses using a few simple props. I also had in mind some ideas for compositing some of the images into and even more creative style, something that I like to do when other photographers are shooting the same or similar images. My initial selection was quite straightforward and comprised or fairly ‘straight’ shots with minimal post-processing. As time goes by I’m sure I will create more heavily manipulated images – time will tell on that one…
